Professional Biography:
Christen is a Hunter College Graduate with years of experience working with perinatal mental health, addictions and working with those struggling with BPD. During her time at Arms Acres: Rehabilitation Center, she developed an abundance of clinical interventions to help those struggling with addictions and more severe mental illnesses.
Clinical Approach:
With over a decade of clinical experience, Christen has dedicated her career to walking alongside individuals as they navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. Her passion for empathic, human-centered care naturally led her into private practice, where she now works primarily with clients ages 14 and older.
She specialize in trauma, addictions, chronic mental illness, and perinatal mental health. Her approach is eclectic and fluid—because no two people need the same path to healing. She believes in meeting each client exactly where they are, tailoring support to foster resilience, growth, and authentic self-discovery.
At the core of her work is the belief that healing happens in relationship: when trust, safety, and compassion are present, transformation is possible.

“In a world of social media, where we are connected more than ever before, life can feel so very isolating. We are overwhelmed with superficial connections, what’s lacking is deeper, meaningful ones.” ~ Christen Deering, LCSW
